Catherine Anne Kordahl was born on April 20, 1923 near Mora, MN to Edgar and Julia Mork. She had one brother, Clifford, and graduated from Mora High School in 1941. Because of World War II, immediately upon graduation she started working at Twin Cities Ordinance Plant inspecting cartridges and then telescope lenses at Honeywell. Catherine began attending Augsburg College in 1945 where she met her future husband, Axel Kordahl, at the Lutheran Free Church Seminary. They were married on October 12, 1951 and served in several Lutheran parishes in North Dakota and Minnesota. In 1981, they retired and moved to Mora where they joined Calvary Lutheran Church. Axel died in April 2006, while Catherine continued to live in Mora until she moved to Fair Meadow Nursing Home in early 2016.
Catherine has always enjoyed reading, cooking, and crafts. Although her vision is poor now, she keeps busy at Fair Meadow with church, exercising, reading groups, and attending special musical events.
